Peg was my saviour. I couldnt get home that Friday night so she offered to put me up. She nuked a microwave meal for me and i bought a bottle of whisky from the local shop. we took the top off and listened to all the dramas unfolding on the local radio station. When we went to bed she said heres a hairbrush, a flannel and a clean pair of knickers for you. We watched the coast guards lifting stranded drivers off the A46 at Sedgeberrow all night. In the morning I went and got some essential supplies from Hampton shop for Peg and met some ladies with a 4 x 4 who offered to take me into town. Gave Peg the supplies and said I would be back for my car later. I was so so grateful to Peg for caring for me when so many were driving up and down the motorway in vain and i was in the dry.
